We are born and we need things and we live and endure
We grow up and fall in love and have children of our own
The seasons bloom and fade the winter ebbs and goes away
We live to grow wrinkled and tired and worn we fall gradually apart
Then we are wiped effortlessly away like leaves in the winter wind
Noone lives to remember us and only the wind whispers our memory
What are we then? Why are We born in embers enduring growing light
There is no reason to ignite and burn and fade away the sorrow of life
Every season comes and brings with it new fresh sorrows people die every day
I pray for you and look at life and the tears fill my eyes, how long must we wait
if life is pointless why are we here? Why all the endless unrelenting sorrow
How can they be so cruel? We are daily damned to die tomorrow
Waking in sadness and fear and sleeping with tenderly held hope
we never know when God is going to snatch us away from our lives
I just think It's terribly sad that life should be so lived in vain
That life unending repeats pain again and again
That one man's joy is sadly another man's grief
That we are all alost and so doomed to repeat
The same mistakes our fathers did and be cast into the cold
alone, alost and who will hear our stories told
in me the pain has found the source of all its sadness
In pain the heart has grown the fevers of terrible madness
It seems the hearts cries for the pointlessness of life
and though lost I go again to look for you in all my strife
In Jesus' Name,
Amen
